The
TES Instructional Design Assistant
position provides assistantship in instructional design services and support to faculty, instructors, and subject matter experts in the development of online courses and modules.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in‑house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
Assistance with special projects
Seasonal work
AU student employees are not eligible for TES.
Essential Functions
Assist with managing, facilitating, and participating in course development projects, as well as the development of instructional materials
Collaborate with faculty, instructors, and subject matter experts to design and develop interactive online courses
Assist with determining appropriate instructional application of online technologies in conjunction with stakeholders
Research and utilize the most up‑to‑date practices and technologies related to instructional design and online learning applications
Assist with gathering feedback from stakeholders to continually update and improve course design and content
Assist with analyzing and ensuring all online courses meet quality standards, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Work with faculty and administrators to improve and relaunch online courses based on an evaluation of relevant student engagement and performance data and analytics

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma
Technology proficiency
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
1 year of experience in designing and developing online instructional materials and courses
Salary Range $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Work Hours Monday - Thursday; 7:45 AM - 4:45 PM
