The
IT Vendor Management Analyst
supports the strategic objectives of the Information Technology Vendor Management Office (IT VMO) by overseeing IT vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance management. Reporting to the IT VMO Leader, this role drives operational efficiency, cost savings, and strategic alignment between vendors and the organization’s goals. This is a hybrid position with occasional on‑site visits required in Edison, NJ. Ideal candidates have proven expertise in contract life cycle management across XaaS, Software, Hardware, Network, and Managed Service agreements, along with strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
Responsibilities
Support the IT VMO Leader in aligning vendor management strategies with HMH objectives.
Provide insights and recommendations to assist leadership in vendor selection decisions.
Highlight key risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Manage the full vendor lifecycle, including RF(x) events, stakeholder engagement, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.
Oversee vendor compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for vendor consolidation, cost savings, and strategic partnerships.
Lead the review and negotiation of vendor agreements, focusing on cost optimization, service quality, and operational efficiency.
Ensure contracts deliver measurable business outcomes and comply with internal policies and industry standards.
Address non- compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct financial analysis to identify rationalization initiatives and assess budget impact.
Oversee vendor‑related financial activities, including budgeting, cost tracking, and adherence to financial policies.
Develop and implement systems for monitoring vendor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs).
Promptly address performance issues and build strategic vendor partnerships.
Assess and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships using governance frameworks.
Lead RF(x) efforts to consolidate spending and evaluate vendor capabilities.
Analyze RFP outcomes to make informed vendor selection decisions.
Develop business cases for potential IT initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders.
Act as a liaison between IT, business teams, and vendors to align on project objectives.
Build collaborative relationships with internal teams—including DTS leadership, Legal, and Purchasing—to drive vendor management initiatives.
Foster positive vendor relationships to support long‑term partnerships.
Identify and implement process improvements within the VMO to ensure operational excellence.
Establish governance frameworks, tools, and templates to optimize vendor management processes.
Continuously evaluate and enhance processes to align with organizational goals and deliver enterprise value.
Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT vendor management, contract negotiation, process improvement, consulting, or strategic sourcing.
Proven experience negotiating XaaS, Software, Hardware, Network, and Managed Service agreements.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to collaborate with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical skills, including financial cost analysis and risk mitigation strategies.
Familiarity with contracting trends, licensing models, and vendor performance metrics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare industry experience.
Hospital system experience with familiarity with health applications/EHRs (Epic preferred).
Knowledge of clinical workflows, interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR), and healthcare compliance (HIPAA/HITECH, BAAs).
Experience negotiating EHR modules and professional services SOWs.
Experience partnering with Clinical Leadership, HIM, Privacy, Security, and Legal teams on upgrades and vendor KPIs.
Compensation Minimum annual salary: $95,555.20. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay and does not reflect the full value of our market‑competitive total rewards package.
Compensation may be influenced by labor market data, experience, education, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budgetary considerations. Some positions may be eligible for performance‑based incentives, bonuses, or commissions. Shift differentials may apply for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
