We are currently hiring for a 2nd‑shift Quality Control Technician in Madison, WI.

Job Summary The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, assessing, verifying, testing, and documenting process and product quality on all goods, incoming goods, and in‑process materials used in manufacturing, as well as finished goods delivered to customers. Duties include instrument calibration, documentation, and maintaining accurate records.

Duties and Responsibilities

Perform inspections and qualify control tests to ensure quality standards and adherence to specifications.

Understand and follow the plant’s OHSE and quality systems to maintain a safe workplace and ensure quality product.

Inspect and test incoming raw materials.

Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with customers’ specifications.

Maintain appropriate records of tests, inspection results, and observations.

Notify production personnel of deviations in product quality; mark deviant products appropriately.

Assist with set‑up and clean‑up of all presses when the machine is down.

Help the site meet quality objectives.

Perform any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; some continued education preferred (e.g., chemistry background).

1–3 years of quality control experience preferred.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Ability to use gauges and calipers.

Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Skills Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; read and analyze technical procedures, blueprints, and engineering drawings. Proficiency in basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions; ability to solve practical problems and interpret technical instructions.

Physical Demands Regular standing, walking, talking, and hearing; hand use for handling, reaching, and manipulating. Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Potential exposure to high or precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable, or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. Noise level is usually moderate.
