Project Manager – HEAPY

This position offers the opportunity to work on federal projects and contribute to our expanding Federal Practice.
Summary This new position is part of an emerging team that will work with the Client Strategies Leader and a Senior Project Manager to strengthen client relationships and enhance our market presence. The Project Manager will manage the full life cycle of design engineering, commissioning, energy optimization, sustainability, or engineering/construction projects, delivering excellence while maintaining client satisfaction, team engagement, and financial targets.
Qualifications
A 4‑year degree in Electrical Engineering.
9+ years of progressive experience in design or process engineering, building technology development, start‑up, or field construction (or equivalent).
Experience in Federal Government or Department of Defense Project Management.
Professional Engineering (PE) registration highly desired; FE certification and work toward a PE considered.
Duties & Responsibilities
Guide HEAPY service delivery to ensure consistency with operating procedures.
Oversee project execution with a focus on profitability, efficient resource allocation, cost control, and streamlined workflows.
Participate in project costing and bid/proposal preparation as required.
Identify and pursue opportunities to expand HEAPY service offerings within existing accounts.
Establish communication network among client, architect, and construction manager.
Define project scope, procedures, schedules, budgets, and resource plans after award.
Collaborate with leadership to form the project work team and assign responsibilities.
Submit necessary submissions to federal, state, and local authorities and obtain permits.
Conduct regular project progress review meetings with internal and contract team members.
Ensure contract terms, specifications, regulatory requirements, and security procedures are met.
Avoid or minimize delays and cost overruns.
Recognize and address resource, equipment, material, and quality issues promptly.
Represent HEAPY culture, maintain colleague morale, and interact with clients appropriately.
Engage in electrical engineering/design, maintain design oversight, and leadership.
Submit accurate progress billing information on time.
Meet with client management to resolve issues and obtain final approvals.
Participate actively in client feedback and improve performance.
Maintain ongoing business relationships with clients for development efforts.
Engage in federal project pursuit and support pursuit‑winning strategies.
Maintain awareness of federal client needs and procedures.
Report client management activities and opportunities using CRM.
Additional responsibilities as requested.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Remain sedentary at desk for long periods while operating a keyboard and computer.
Communicate in person and via phone with other individuals.
Possess reliable transportation to and from projects.
Work in all indoor and outdoor environments, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
Access all areas of the job site, including stairs, scaffolding, ladders, and elevation changes.
Work in positions that require kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, and bending.
Move or place items weighing up to 25 lbs.
Apply protocols and safety guidelines in a timely manner.
Gather, organize, and evaluate information related to projects and calculations.
