Job Purpose To perform loading / unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers. Ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse. Pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customer.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Loading / unloading truck / trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
Picking and moving from 1 lb to 50 lbs or more multiple times.
Ensure all documentation is properly completed.
Coordinate with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
Proper storing of all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
Ensure all shipments are properly marked before storing / picking.
Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
Spot trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into warehouse.
Coordinate paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
General maintenance of area surrounding warehouse.
Ensure trailers are swept clean of any debris when empty.
Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
Process outbound freight cross‑dock freight as necessary.
Operate stand‑up reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and some sit‑down forklift work.
Follow all safety procedures at all times.
Build pallets and break down stock.
Work in a fast‑paced warehouse.
Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Additional Responsibilities Operate a forklift, cherry picker, and stand‑up reach forklift.
Communicate, resolve problems, and work well with others.
Maintain orderly operation of warehouse.
Qualifications 1 year forklift driving experience.
Certified forklift license.
Education And/or Experience Required High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
Read, analyze, and interpret business documents; write reports and correspondences; present information effectively.
Mathematical Skills Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; compute rates, ratios, percentages; interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability Resolve practical problems and determine “root cause” to determine corrective action.
Computer Skills Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, Word processing, and spreadsheets.
Physical Demands Occasional lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
Operate keyboard and button phone systems.
Speak clearly in front of others.
Work in indoor/office environments, sitting and repetitive hand motion.
Stand, walk, talk, and hear frequently.
Work more than 8 consecutive hours when required.
Handle stress, maintain accuracy, concentrate on multiple tasks.
Correct 20/20 vision to read visual media.
Speak and communicate clearly over the phone.
In good physical health as verified by a licensed physician; no controlled substances.
Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Noise ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
