Supervisor, Faculty Practice - GI Clinic - Boston
This role focuses on providing administrative and business support to the organization in order to achieve operational goals. It includes Clinical Administration duties such as long-term strategic planning, prioritizing investments, allocating resources, and developing needs to accomplish the practice's vision. The role supervises employees in tactical and operational activities, overseeing day‑to‑day operations, planning, prioritizing and directing responsibilities of staff. The primary responsibilities include setting operational objectives for the team, ensuring policies, procedures and practices are understood and followed, and providing operational oversight.
Job Overview:
The position is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day administrative and operational functions of the clinical practice, supporting the Faculty Practice Administrator by ensuring efficient practice operations, supervising front‑line staff, and maintaining high standards of patient care and satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting.
One (1) year of supervisory experience managing staff, patient services, and office operations in a healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the management of daily operations of the clinical practice under the guidance of the Clinical Practice Administrator.
Supervise front desk receptionists, billers/coders, and medical assistants to ensure optimal staffing and resource utilization.
Oversee patient registration, scheduling, and billing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
Support quality assurance initiatives and patient satisfaction evaluations.
Handle patient complaints and issues, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
Assist with financial management of the practice.
Monitor expenditures and report on financial variances.
Support the Clinical Practice Administrator in financial and operational reporting.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, and sitting within the clinic.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and use required software applications.
Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include occasional lifting and carrying of light objects.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, providing guidance and support.
Capacity to analyze operational data and contribute to strategic planning.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Effective problem‑solving skills to address operational challenges.
Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and patient needs.
Pay Range:
$60,908.12 – $76,140.43
