Appointment Details Type: Provisional (TPV) – this appointment is temporary. The appointee must participate in a Civil Service examination and secure a permanent appointment within a competitive process. The provisional period may not exceed three (3) years.

Role Summary The 7229 Transmission Line Supervisor leads the High Voltage Maintenance Department’s Transmission and Distribution Line Workers. The supervisor directs and coordinates the planning, execution, and oversight of all high‑voltage maintenance, construction, and emergency repair activities throughout San Francisco, Treasure Island, and the San Francisco International Airport.
Essential Duties
Supervise 7350 Transmission and Distribution Line Workers.
Lead emergency response operations for power outages, damaged equipment, and street light O&M.
Oversight of inspection of overhead and underground electrical infrastructure.
Ensure all safety rules and procedures are consistently followed.
Plan and schedule construction and maintenance work for the department.
Develop subordinates through training and employee development programs.
Prepare material purchase requisitions and coordinate with warehouse staff.
Maintain and update work orders in the Maximo work management system.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Six (6) years of verifiable journey‑level line work, covering systems from 600 to 230,000 volts, including construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground lines.
License and Certification:
Valid California Class C driver’s license. For San Francisco positions, a Class B license is required within six (6) months of appointment; for Moccasin and Oakdale, a Class A license is required within six (6) months.
Substitution:
Completion of a state‑certified electrical line apprenticeship program may substitute for two (2) of the required years of journey‑level experience.
Must meet the minimum qualifications by the final filing date unless explicitly noted.
