Collins Aerospace is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Integrated Platforms team in Richardson, TX. This position is for a highly motivated manager to lead a team of 12-17 software engineers developing embedded software for Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) mission systems solutions deployed on aircraft and in ground strategic defense systems. The role includes managing and motivating a team responsible for all aspects of the software development lifecycle while cultivating and reinforcing values, methods, and processes. This position will require on-site work in Richardson, Texas and spans the entire development lifecycle, from pursuit and order capture through verification testing and customer delivery.
What You Will Do
Provide technical oversight and guidance to a software engineering team across all software development lifecycle stages
Responsible for recruiting, coaching and mentoring software engineers of all experience levels
Responsible for program staffing and staffing supply metrics
Review of bids and proposals
Act as an interface to engineering and value stream leadership
Ensure compliance with development processes and standard work environments
Responsible for the earned value (cost and schedule) performance of the team
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Software engineering development and leadership experience
Experience with all software development lifecycle stages
Prior experience of hiring and staffing programs
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience of leading software teams on DoD programs
Experience in development of embedded software for military airborne platforms
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Familiarity with on air and on ground communications systems
Experience in software bid and proposal efforts
Experience using SEER-SEM, Cameo, and JIRA or similar software development tools
Experience with regulatory and certification requirements

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
