Position Summary The Lead Solution Architect is responsible for designing business solutions for key strategic initiatives, focusing on modern event‑driven architectures with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies, contemporary system designs, and emerging AI and agentic technologies.
The role collaborates across multiple teams to design comprehensive solution architectures that integrate business applications, data, infrastructure, platform, and security components.
It involves providing leadership, coaching, and strategic guidance to application development teams while developing reference architectures for cloud‑native applications and new architectural frameworks that integrate emerging AI and agentic technologies.
Location: this position is open to multiple CVS locations for hybrid or fully remote anywhere in the USA.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of design and development experience in enterprise‑level solutions.
2+ years of hands‑on experience with cloud implementations, particularly in modern event‑driven architectures.
Expertise in technical subject matter and domain knowledge, with a focus on cloud technologies and emerging AI and agentic technologies.
Strong understanding of cloud design and architecture for one or more public cloud providers, with a preference for AWS.
Strong technical skills in application, data, integration, and security architecture/design.
Proficient understanding of APIs (REST, GraphQL, and gRPC) and microservices‑based architecture.
Experience with Domain‑Driven Design, including the ability to map domain scope to Bounded Contexts and Microservices.
Familiarity with technologies that bridge modern applications and legacy infrastructure, including streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.
Experience with enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile), including DevSecOps and DataOps.
Hands‑on technologist with coding skills and proficiency in modern technology stacks (Cloud, DevOps, Kafka, etc.).
Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, as well as cloud database technologies.
Demonstrable hands‑on experience is essential.
Ability to facilitate the adoption of cloud‑native/cloud‑first architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Pay Range The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $106,605.00 - $260,590.00.
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
