Position Summary At CVS Health, we’re building a world of health around every consumer and surrounding ourselves with dedicated colleagues who are passionate about transforming health care. The Lead Solution Architect is responsible for designing business solutions for key strategic initiatives, focusing on modern event‑driven architectures with a strong emphasis on cloud technologies, contemporary system designs, and emerging AI and agentic technologies. In this role, you will collaborate across multiple teams—Digital, Data & Analytics, IT, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security—to design comprehensive solution architectures that integrate business applications, data, infrastructure, platform, and security components.

As a hands‑on leader, you’ll provide coaching and strategic guidance to application development teams, develop reference architectures for cloud‑native applications, and create new architectural frameworks that incorporate emerging AI technologies. You will foster a culture of problem‑solving and innovation, actively engage to address technical challenges, and remove roadblocks.

Location: Multiple CVS locations for hybrid or fully remote work anywhere in the USA.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of design and development experience in enterprise‑level solutions.

2+ years of hands‑on experience with cloud implementations, particularly in modern event‑driven architectures.

Expertise in technical subject matter and domain knowledge, with a focus on cloud technologies and emerging AI and agentic technologies.

Strong understanding of cloud design and architecture for one or more public cloud providers, with a preference for AWS, to deliver large‑scale distributed solutions across the entire enterprise stack.

Strong technical skills in application, data, integration, and security architecture/design.

Proficient understanding of APIs (REST, GraphQL, and gRPC) and microservices‑based architecture.

Experience with Domain‑Driven Design, including the ability to map domain scope to Bounded Contexts and Microservices.

Familiarity with technologies that bridge modern applications and legacy infrastructure, use streaming platforms like Apache Kafka.

Experience with enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile), including DevSecOps and DataOps.

Hands‑on technologist with coding skills and proficiency in modern technology stacks (Cloud, DevOps, Kafka, etc.).

Understanding of both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, as well as cloud database technologies.

Demonstrable hands‑on experience is essential.

Ability to facilitate the adoption of cloud‑native/cloud‑first architectures.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Pay Range Base annual salary: $106,605.00 – $260,590.00. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. Eligible for bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program and equity award program.
