Your Next Opportunity As the Senior Project Manager (SPM) you will oversee electrical services and small projects for commercial, industrial, and healthcare clients. The role ensures that all service calls, repairs, and small construction projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The SPM leads client relationships, coordinates field and office teams, and drives growth within the service and small projects division.
What You’ll Do
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate boundaries. Put these in a clear concise work statement for the field.
Effectively supervise a staff in the day‑to‑day administration of a job or supervise two or more Project Managers in their daily tasks.
Train and effectively supervise Project Managers in the company philosophy and systems.
Negotiate and supervise the preparation of all change orders on the project.
Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project.
Train and effectively supervise a Project Assistant in the maintenance of project required tracking devices.
Maintain liaison with prime client and A/E to facilitate construction activities.
Monitor construction activities in conjunction with the onsite Foreman and Area Superintendent to ensure the project is being built on schedule and within budgets.
Investigate any potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures within company guidelines, under supervision.
Represent the company/project in meetings with clients, subcontractors, etc.
Prepare monthly costing reports.
Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect the company's interest and maintain a good relationship with the client.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
Experience managing electrical construction projects.
Project accountability and initiative for all aspects of the project and its success.
Creative problem‑solving skills and experience in the field.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction, and how these systems work.
Determination about planning, innovating, and improving processes.
Ability to think outside the box and lead the team in driving innovative construction techniques and prefabrication strategies.
Strong leadership skills, business acumen, and integrity.
Understanding of the financials of a project and how to forecast.
Ability to foster great relationships with the field and extract the best from your people.
Collaboration with multiple stakeholders to achieve mutual outcomes.
What You Bring To Us
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or other related discipline (preferred).
PE license (a plus).
10+ years of experience in project management, preferably in electrical construction.
Combination of education, training, and relevant experience acceptable.
Proven experience mentoring and managing others.
Business development/heavy client interaction a plus.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures.
Professional appearance and conduct.
Extensive knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and preferred Oracle and Accubid.
Prioritization and multitasking skills under changing priorities.
Ability to work under time pressure and adapt with a positive attitude.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Self‑motivated, proactive, and effective team player.
Professional interaction with all levels of employees, vendors, clients, and others.
Travel
10‑25% travel.
Working Conditions
General work environment – active construction sites and office. Activities include sitting, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, and bending.
Noise level usually low to medium; can be loud on a job site.
Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
