Job Details The successful Field Superintendent will provide on‑site administrative and technical management of the related activities, including necessary planning, organization, direction, coordination and control for all field personnel, in a manner that supports the profit and growth objectives of the company.
Responsibilities
Supervise operations on the construction sites
Monitor the short‑term schedule
Review and support hiring needs
Perform quality control and coordination responsibilities with other trades
Train, manage and evaluate project team members
Assist Project Manager in preparing construction schedules
Create daily schedules for proper manpower utilization
Maintain daily reports, time sheets, safety and accident reports
Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve conflicts
Plan, organize and direct production in accordance with the contracted scope of work
Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs
Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure requested material is expedited and received as needed
Ensure all installations meet quality, electrical code, and engineering standards
Communicate project problems and priority concerns to the Project Manager
Empower, train and develop field employees
Counsel employees, including writing/filling and following up corrective measures for offenses
Record proper paperwork and counseling prior to any employee leave or termination
Conduct 90‑day, annual and end‑of‑project reviews for specific job performance
Perform other duties as required
Requirements
Active Journeyman's or Master’s License
Prior knowledge and/or ability to learn and understand the estimating process
Safety‑focused mindset
Proficiency with MS Excel and Word
Exposure to ACCUBID a plus
Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong customer service skills
Ability to be mobile to various locations and available to travel to project sites as required
Physical requirements: Work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses) at all times; respirator when required. Able to work 8‑10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required, including night shifts. Tasks may involve crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching. Must routinely lift heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and push/pull objects as required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work constitutes more than 70% of the job.
