WHAT YOU WILL DO As the
Director of Quality & Food Safety , you will lead the company’s entire Quality & Food Safety function — ensuring products are safe, consistent, and compliant across the supply chain. You will manage the internal Quality team, oversee food safety programs and certifications, manage regulatory compliance, elevate documentation systems, and partner cross-functionally with Operations, Commercialization, Product Development, and Innovation.
You’ll modernize and strengthen quality programs built during earlier growth stages and help position the organization for its next phase of scale.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the internal Quality team, ensuring strong execution and alignment to company quality standards.
Oversee customer complaint analysis, root cause investigation, and CAPA implementation.
Conduct facility audits and cultivate a strong food safety culture across the organization.
Approve finished product specifications and ensure consistent adherence.
Manage and maintain company certifications (GFSI/BRC/SQF, Organic, etc.) and documentation for regulatory and manufacturing compliance.
Conduct mock recalls and own the company’s recall program and readiness.
Qualify new manufacturing partners and support onboarding of their quality programs.
Serve as the approval point for packaging artwork to ensure regulatory accuracy and compliance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality systems, processes, and product consistency.
Work cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, Innovation, and Commercialization teams to support new product development and product changes.

Qualifications
8+ years of leadership experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, or FSQA in a CPG, food manufacturing, or similar environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, STEM, or Business (required).
Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality systems, and production processes.
Experience working in a GFSI/BRC/SQF‑certified environment.
Familiarity with Organic and “better‑for‑you” product standards is a plus.
Experience managing audits, certifications, and regulatory documentation.
Strong analytical skills and experience presenting data to guide decisions.
High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced setting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to influence and collaborate cross‑functionally.
Ability to travel domestically (~25%).
