Area Sales Manager – West Coast
Stabilus is a manufacturer and global market leader of hydro‑pneumatic adjustment elements (gas springs), hydraulic vibration dampers, hydraulic door checks, and automatic opening and closing systems for doors, trunk lids, and tailgates. The company employs approximately 6,000 employees and supplies products to the automotive, commercial vehicle, furniture, and machine sectors.
Base pay range $90,000.00/yr – $95,000.00/yr
Job Summary The Area Sales Manager manages regional efforts to sell assigned products throughout the West Coast of the United States and extends into Canada. The manager represents and promotes Stabilus professionally, defines and attains sales and profit budgets, and manages markets and customers within the region. The position manages three sales channels: OEMs and distributors.
Essential Job Functions
Maximize sales and profit dollars with all accounts
Implement Sales and Marketing Programs within the sales territory to ensure attainment of sales and profit goals
Develop new accounts and manage existing accounts and coordinate the Technical and Customer Satisfaction activities to maintain the best interests of both company and customer
Contribute to the development of market, product, and pricing strategies; provide input to customer quote and deviation requests
Remain current with sales support documents and reports
Proactive role with distributors to satisfy customer needs
Problem‑solve with customer and company as required
Identify and interpret competitive requirements and actions
Proficiency with contact management programs
Customer presentations
Joint sales and training with distributors
Administrative requirements
Daily/weekly updates to contact management
Input to the quarterly forecast
Key account reports
Monthly reports
Maintenance of weekly itineraries and expense reports
Education, Training, Certifications
4‑year degree required; business or technical preferred
Experience
5‑8 years of sales/sales management experience in a related industry
Minimum 5 years proven sales experience in a related industry
Minimum 4 years middle management and supervisory responsibilities

Financial responsibility for sales projects ranging from $7M to $15M.
Errors in planning and sales may negatively impact company financial status and ability to meet customer and financial goals.
Access to proprietary product designs, product costs, operating budget data, company proprietary processes, and strategic planning information; disclosure could compromise company.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally lift products and supplies up to 30 pounds.>
