Position Summary QCi is seeking an experienced supply chain manager who will oversee the company's domestic and international supply chain. This person will be responsible for setting up and continuously improving the supply chain of critical equipment for our TFLN manufacturing operations, including semiconductor production tools, consumables, service contracts and wafers. The manager will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to manage the supply chain of components used in QCi’s other products, and will collaborate with accounting and purchasing to ensure that all materials and supplies are sourced in a timely manner and at the best possible cost. The role also requires sourcing components, maintaining supplier relationships, reducing costs, and driving standardization across several sites.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for just-in-time planning, material requirements planning, capacity planning, and production activity control.
Coordinates planning strategy for dependent and non-master items.
Converts requisitions into purchase orders with suppliers.
Reconciles problems by identifying work error messages, expediting material shortages, and coordinating with other planners, sales and purchasing. Balances demand with capacity for dependent and non-master items.
Requires product knowledge of Just-in-Time, Lean Manufacturing, Materials Requirements Planning, Capacity Planning, ERP, Strategic sourcing, and Production Activity Control.
Monitors supply market drivers and adjusts sourcing strategy to meet future business performance goals.
Sources vendors of material, equipment or suppliers and interviews them to determine product availability and terms of sale.
Reviews purchase order claims for conformance to company policy.
Resolves systemic delivery or material quality issues with suppliers.
Works with the team to rate supplier scorecards and communicate results, action plans, potential conformance concerns and force majeure issues.
Leads sourcing and procurement for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Negotiates complex agreements for high-value assets.
Manages supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and compliance.
Develops long-term strategies for cost optimization and risk mitigation.
Oversees procurement of critical spare parts and repair services for manufacturing and engineering operations.
Implements strategies to minimize downtime and optimize inventory.
Conducts supplier performance reviews and drives continuous improvement.
Uses data-driven insights to solve procurement challenges and improve efficiency.
Manages contracts for maintenance, technical services, and operational support.
Ensures compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, finance) to align service agreements with business needs.
Required Skills And Experience
8–10 years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
Bachelor's Degree.
Strong background in semiconductor manufacturing or technology environments.
Proficient knowledge of Windows-based business computers and Microsoft Office programs (Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
Proficient in MRP and ERP systems (SAP).
Demonstrated ability to remain effective under stress and respond to pressure in a manner acceptable to others and the organization.
Demonstrated ability to model customer-focused behaviors leading to outstanding customer experiences.
Consistently demonstrates a commitment to corporate policies and procedures, including attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.
Good skills in negotiating, expediting, and vendor performance evaluation.
Negotiates, drafts, and manages contracts for equipment, spares, and services.
Monitors supplier performance using KPIs and leads business reviews.
Provides guidance to procurement teams and fosters a culture of continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
15+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
Experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment or with manufacturing/industrial engineering environments.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory and control best practices such as SOX, GDPR, and GRI.
Knowledge of compressed gas cylinder safety in regard to shipping.
General understanding of chemical and gas delivery systems, hardware and software.
General storage, handling, and shipping knowledge of hazards associated with common chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing processes (e.g., hydrofluoric acid, other acids, caustics, cryogenic liquids, common industrial solvents).
Experience with 5S, Six Sigma, and incoming material SDS documents (safety data sheets), purchase spec sheets CoA (certificate of analysis).
Knowledge and training in purchasing across various fields.
