Computer Science Assistant or untenured Associate Professor
The Department of Computer Science at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the junior level (Assistant or untenured Associate Professor). The position is located in the School of Engineering, Stanford University, California.
Position Overview We seek scholars from all areas of Computer Science, spanning theoretical foundations, systems, software, and applications, as well as interdisciplinary work with engineering, mathematics, medical, physical, and social sciences. The Department values originality and promise of the candidate’s work more than sub‑area specialization.
Responsibilities
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
Build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research.
Develop and maintain an independent research program.
Engage in service and outreach activities as required by the department and university.
Qualifications
Completed (or in the final phase of) a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Demonstrated ability to pursue a program of research.
Strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching.
Evidence of high quality, innovative research.
Effective communication and collaborative skills.

Pay and Benefits
Assistant Professor:
$141,247 – $159,910 (nine‑month appointment, no summer salary).
Associate Professor (untenured):
$152,547 – $191,506 (nine‑month appointment, no summer salary).
Additional benefits include housing assistance and comprehensive compensation information upon request.
