Lead Electrical Engineer – San Francisco PAE is seeking a dynamic Lead Electrical Engineer to drive growth in San Francisco. We look for a candidate who shares our passion for sustainable engineering, mentors junior engineers, consults with clients, and conducts site visits.
What You’ll Do
Oversee the preparation of deliverables and documents including narratives, calculations, drawings and specifications
Apply electrical distribution, lighting and power systems design
Communicate design options effectively to diverse stakeholder groups
Provide engineering direction and guidance for the project team
Apply engineering judgment, techniques and procedures to complete projects from concepts through construction independently
Oversee electrical load calculations
Complete projects within budget and schedule
Co‑ordinate across disciplines and manage inter‑disciplinary coordination
Update master specifications and provide input into standards
Apply building codes and electrical industry standards
Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection
Provide opinions of probable construction costs
Perform site visits and issue reports
Apply distribution load‑flow, short‑circuit and arc‑flash energy analysis using Easy Power
Implement the project quality management plan (QMP)
Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline work
Relevant professional credential (e.g., PE) preferred
Minimum 3‑5 years of electrical engineering or 4‑6 years of related experience
Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts
Thorough understanding of project phases and their deliverables
Ability to assemble and run a team
Strong delegation skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge and application of the NEC and relevant building and energy codes
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
Knowledge of Easy Power
What We Offer
Hiring Base Salary Range: $101,500 – $135,800 annual (eligible for straight overtime pay)
