SAP Retail Technical/ Integration Architect SAP Retail Technical / Integration Architect is responsible for creating and delivering a cohesive solution across multiple modules of SAP and connecting non‑SAP applications. The candidate must have deep expertise in the SAP IS Retail module and working knowledge of multiple SAP modules such as FI, MM/WM, SD, PP, etc. The candidate should be able to design the integration architecture in conjunction with SAP Functional Leads and technical integration development leads using SAP CPI (BTP) technology and recommend alternatives to resolve conflicts between business requirements and out‑of‑the‑box best practices. The ideal candidate will have led a team to design and implement S/4/HANA CPI/BTP integration experience with Manhattan WMS & Sterling OMS (as well as other retail/financial related solutions).
This is a senior role and is critical in defining and executing the long‑term technical / integration landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, design and help build innovative retail solutions around SAP S/4HANA
Partner with key stakeholders to transform business processes and improve KPIs in the retail industry
Help customers define their digital roadmap
Perform detailed analysis of complex business‑process requirements and provide appropriate retail‑system solutions
Work with teams located across multiple geographies
Identify, interpret, validate and document customer requirements, including facilitating workshops to collect business requirements
Lead business‑requirement discussions with customers to implement S/4HANA solutions
Provide strong technical understanding of the product and demonstrate how the platform can be configured to meet customer business needs
Understand the SAP Retail roadmap for S/4HANA and act as a trusted advisor for clients in driving adoption
Review project deliverables (e.g., benefits‑realization strategy, to‑be functional requirements, enterprise structure, business‑process master list (BPML), business‑process design document) to ensure they meet objectives
Build and maintain relationships with key executives, business personnel, SMEs and professional networks
Estimate total effort for all application teams
Contribute to the knowledge base of the SAP Practice
Technical Experience
Excellent communication skills and experience leading multidisciplinary workshops encompassing both business and technical roles
Over 18 years of overall SAP implementation and support experience
At least 4+ years in S/4HANA implementation experience, with 2+ years as a Technical/Solution Architect/Integration Manager in a retail client
Ability to articulate and demonstrate S/4 functionalities, including Fiori
Knowledge of S/4HANA best practices and enterprise architecture
Deep understanding of integration of SAP and non‑SAP components common in retail landscapes (CAR, POS, warehouse management systems, order‑management systems, etc.)
Conversant with Agile and Activate methodologies
Desire to integrate with other systems such as Hybris Commerce, Sales, Service, Marketing, Ariba, Fieldglass, HANA Studio, Analytics
Knowledge of at least one area’s processes and configurations (e.g., direct procurement, logistics, inventory management, warehouse management) and working knowledge of other areas
Experience designing and improving business process and controls with deep business‑process re‑engineering experience
Demonstrated ability to communicate project goals, status and deliverables to senior executives
Extensive understanding and expertise in the retail sector
Profound understanding of retail business processes
Ability to multitask and manage multiple deliverables and projects concurrently
Ability to work in a team environment and effectively interact with others
Result‑oriented and adaptable, flexible and resourceful
Ability to provide recommendations regarding future business and solution opportunities
