EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants
Location:
Hybrid work schedule out of our San Francisco office, 2 days a week in office.
Summary:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary expert resource and first point of contact for clients, including research/analysis and handling a wide variety of client questions regarding risk management, coverage/eligibility, contractual issues, and government reporting compliance. Prepares endorsements per client requests. Provides resource, trend and legal update to clients on an ongoing basis. Routine questions are delegated.
For new and renewal business, analyzes relevant client data, conducts market comparisons, obtains quotes, strategizes with clients, makes recommendations regarding coverage and exclusions, negotiates premium and commission rates.
Provides marketing and new business development support to producers, including preparing presentations and proposals, and participating in meetings with prospective clients.
Conducts marketing and new business development for employee’s book of business.
Mentors & supports team, encouraging development through training and growth opportunities.
Service
Establishes and maintains primary, ongoing business relationship with client and becomes first point of contact for all client service needs.
Consistently establishes trust and confidence with clients by initiating introductions, periodic contacts, and promptly responding and resolving client questions and issues.
Interfaces with clients, producers and team members to develop a comprehensive customer service plan.
Analyzes client and market data to prepare renewal options, strategizes with clients, and advises on best alternatives.
Negotiates with carriers on clients’ behalf for best available premiums, commissions and coverage.
Maintains expert knowledge and prepares resource information for clients to stay informed of market trends and regulatory changes.
Works with claims advocates to ensure client needs are satisfied throughout claims process.
Marketing
Prepares renewal specifications for carriers including analysis of claims and changes in client operations.
Negotiates with carriers for best available premiums, commissions and coverage.
Conducts renewal presentations as part of team.
Analyzes and provides client referrals to Sales Team for Property Casualty and Employee Benefits opportunities.
Develops relationships with underwriters, wholesale brokers, counsel, and other professional service providers.
Personal and Organizational Development
Sets priorities and manages workflow to meet all goals.
Maintains cordial and effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and contacts.
Documents correspondence and activity in agency management systems.
Interacts with others effectively using good communication skills to achieve business goals.
Stays informed on industry information, new products, coverage, legislation, technology to continuously improve knowledge.
Projects a professional image in action and appearance.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma; college degree preferred.
Minimum of three years’ experience in mid-size brokerage or carrier.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and juggle multiple tasks.
High level of interpersonal skills, teamwork, poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid State Property and Casualty License required.
Valid State Driver’s License required.
Physical Demands The physical demands described include standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, talking or hearing, and travel. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
Work Environment and Environmental Conditions The work environment characteristics include moderate noise level, no or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Base Salary:
$70,000 to $90,000 in base pay, exclusive of bonuses or benefits. Salary will be based on experience, skills, training, certifications and education.
