We are currently searching for an experienced Water Resources/Hydraulics Engineer to support our Mid Atlantic Region located in Springfield, VA or Virginia Beach, VA.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent related degree.
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop drainage and Stormwater Management Design for Transportation improvement projects
Design Stormwater BMPs or SWM facilities to meet state and local requirements
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, analysis, and modeling
Develop Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)
Prepare report and technical memorandum
Prepare construction drawings, quantities, cost estimates and specifications
Assist with roadway project development and other misc. civil engineering tasks for project design and delivery
What You Need To Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent related degree
4+ years related experience
Professional Engineer license preferred or working towards obtaining a PE license in the near future
Strong writing, oral communication, and teamwork skills
Previous VDOT Drainage design experience and strong knowledge of VDOT standards and procedures preferred
A mix of technical and project management experience including, but not limited to:
Virginia Stormwater Management Program
Modeling
H&H analysis
Pump/lift station design and operations
Erosion and sediment control plans and strategies
Virginia Beach/Hampton Road experience is a plus
Perform technical work in various software applications, including but not limited to MicroStation, Openroads Designer, Civil 3D, PCSWMM, StormCAD, PondPack, HEC-RAS, and ARC-GIS
Ability to deliver quality projects for a wide range of clients
Land disturbance permits and storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP)
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Valid driver’s license
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
