Overview
AMT is growing and is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager / Senior Water Resources Engineer with 7+ years of relevant experience, to join our team of design professionals in our Herndon, VA office. The candidate will lead water resources engineering tasks for transportation-related projects for Virginia and Maryland DOT and municipalities. This is an opportunity to lead, manage and deliver challenging projects in the Virginia and Maryland markets and grow into a management position. The role offers a hybrid schedule (combination of office and remote) and competitive compensation & benefits, with relocation allowance for the right candidate. The candidate may work on projects in the Herndon, VA office as well as other AMT offices.
Responsibilities
Completion of calculations, reports and plans in support of transportation projects including stormwater management, storm drainage systems, culverts, open channels, bridge hydraulics and erosion and sediment control
Perform Hydrologic and Hydraulic analysis and reporting
Obtain permit approvals from state and local agencies
Assist in the preparation of engineering documents (plans, reports, cost estimates and specifications) for Advertisement and Construction
Meet and work directly with clients and public agency officials
Work in collaboration with a Transportation design team comprised of other disciplines and support staff on multi-disciplinary projects
Provide QA/QC review following AMT and client-based procedures
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Water Resources
Minimum of 7 years of water resources related experience including plan and report production
Hydrology and hydraulic modeling experience (storm drainage, SWM, floodplain, bridge) with commonly used software
Virginia Licensed Professional Engineer required, Maryland preferred
VDOT experience highly preferred
CADD experience with MicroStation / OpenRoads required
Excellent organizational, coordination and communication skills, both written and verbal
