Manager, Strategic Sourcing - Technical Carnival Cruise Line

Location Miami/Ft. Lauderdale, South Florida. In‑office requirement Tuesday‑Thursday; work from home Mondays and Fridays.

Role Overview The Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Technical leads sourcing initiatives across technical supply‑chain spend categories (ship systems, safety, hotel, furnishings, navigation, environmental, repair & maintenance). The role delivers value, drives savings, increases efficiencies and mitigates risk while partnering with stakeholders across Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Seabourn.

Responsibilities

Engage and collaborate with North American regional brand stakeholders, leading the assigned category portfolio and serving as the primary interface with corporate and sister brands.

Identify and develop strategic sourcing opportunities, performing deep spend analysis by commodity and vendor, and securing stakeholder alignment.

Manage sourcing initiatives using the 7‑step strategic sourcing process—including market, vendor, and baseline spend analysis—and develop negotiation plans.

Manage contracts and key supplier relationships, including global, regional, and local agreements, and oversee transition to the procurement team.

Deliver performance results, meeting hard savings targets, cost‑avoidance objectives, and advancing supplier diversity and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Marine/Industrial Engineering, Naval Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

MBA preferred.

CPSM or CPM preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives within technical operations, hotel refurbishment, commercial construction or shipbuilding, using the 6‑ or 7‑step category‑management methodology.

Experience running RFPs/RFX utilizing technology and e‑procurement.

Strong analytical skills, including Excel modeling, financial analysis (TCO, make/buy, cost‑to‑serve), and market analysis.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and ability to create action‑oriented presentations.

Strategic thought leadership in sourcing strategy planning, formulation, and implementation.

Results orientation in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presenting to senior stakeholders.

Strong contract development and negotiation strategy and skills.

Provide leadership as the primary interface for assigned category portfolios, building trust and alignment with stakeholders.

Develop and maintain a strong supplier relationship management program to foster innovation and reliability.

Physical Demands & Travel Must stay seated at a desk or computer for extended periods. Less than 25% travel, including shipboard travel.
