Position Overview : Reporting to the Department Chair, the Fellowship Program Director will oversee and supervise educational and patient‑care outcomes within the training program. The Program Director will collaborate with Department leadership, GME leadership, hospital administrative leadership, and other applicable leadership to provide operational leadership throughout the OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Department/Division Overview : The Department of Radiology is rapidly growing with expanded services at off‑site imaging centers and new clinical spaces. The College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center offer a highly supportive environment for clinical, research, and educational advancement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide leadership of the educational mission of the training program, ensuring appropriate trainee milestone achievement, oversight of faculty teaching performance/role‑modeling, and assigning teaching faculty based on performance.

Foster an effective, safe learning environment that promotes interdisciplinary teamwork, high‑quality clinical services, and balanced patient care.

Assess fellowship quality outcome metrics – both educational and patient care – while supporting wise resource utilization and adherence to protocol and practice guidelines by trainees.

Ensure the education and training of supervising physicians is commensurate with their activity and that trainees receive appropriate supervision based on skill/knowledge.

Assure the Department of Radiology and OSU Wexner Medical Center meet accreditation and regulatory standards of the Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and other relevant bodies.

Lead the recruitment of exceptional trainees and collaborate with the clinical department to ensure retention of high‑performing individuals.

Develop a training program that is highly regarded and recommended by peers, aiming to improve national rankings where applicable.

Encourage fellow involvement with review and implementation of clinical practice guidelines and care protocols pertinent to the training program, ensuring trainee compliance.

Monitor and track key indicators of program success, including trainee performance, evaluation data, surveys, procedure data, faculty development, graduate performance, and program quality.

Collaborate with key constituents to develop and support an educational curriculum that meets trainee needs.

Attend appropriate administrative meetings to ensure the success of the program, Department, and OSU Wexner Medical Center.

Assure timely completion of documentation, including annual surveys, program updates, responses to citations/areas for improvement, training procedural data, and milestone reporting.

Requirements

M.D., D.O., or equivalent degree.

Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Radiology (ABR, ABOR).

Subspecialty fellowship in Thoracic Radiology.

Three years of post‑fellowship experience.

Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio.

Must support and embrace the diverse and inclusive culture of the College of Medicine, the Medical Center, and the University.
