POSITION OVERVIEW This role is part of the Legal team and reports to the Executive Director, Corporate Counsel. The successful candidate will draft and negotiate a broad range of life sciences agreements, including master service agreements, research and development agreements, license agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, clinical trial agreements, work orders, and other vendor agreements. The position requires deep experience in life‑science agreements and a proactive approach to mitigate risk while advancing corporate goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Draft, review, and negotiate a range of agreements across the company’s business.

Collaborate with employees across the company to efficiently advance corporate contract execution.

Identify and mitigate legal, financial and reputational risks inherent in contract terms.

Provide legal interpretation of agreements and practical business‑oriented legal advice.

Develop and refine contract templates and oversee contract systems and processes, such as the contract management system.

Advise on other legal matters that arise across various functions within the company.

Interface with external legal resources, as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

J.D. from a nationally accredited law school and admission in good standing to any U.S. state bar.

10‑12 years of relevant work experience, with 3‑5 years in an in‑house legal department within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.

Strong negotiation, contract interpretation, and contract drafting skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including proven ability to interact with multiple departments at all levels.

Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and perform at a high caliber in a fast‑paced environment.

Commitment to professionalism and ethical conduct, including handling confidential information.

Self‑motivated and able to work independently within a collaborative environment.

Experience in an emerging, publicly traded company is a plus.

SALARY RANGE $192,000—$260,000 USD per year.
