A leading organization in Vermont is hiring a Director of Plant Operations to lead facilities maintenance, engineering, Biomed, and safety operations across multiple sites. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned facilities leader who knows how to keep complex healthcare environments running smoothly, safely, and in full compliance.
What You'll Do
Lead all Plant Operations functions: building maintenance, Biomed, hazardous waste, life safety, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure safe, efficient operations of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, medical equipment, and utility systems.
Manage, mentor, and develop a skilled facilities team.
Oversee project planning, preventive maintenance, cost controls, and productivity improvements.
Partner with leadership across the organization on facilities strategy, safety initiatives, and major capital projects.
Must-Haves
5+ years of facilities leadership experience
Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boilers, hazardous materials, and safety management
Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements (CMS, OSHA, Life Safety Codes)
Excellent communication, team leadership, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
Experience with business strategy, cost control, and politically sensitive environments
Nice-to-Haves
Healthcare facilities experience
CHFM certification
Technical or trade education with applicable licensure
