Job Description Summary:
This new position will focus on developing PayPal’s US‑focused consumer financial and SMB public policy positions to support the U.S. government relations team’s engagement with federal and state policymakers. The candidate will liaise closely with PayPal’s Consumer Group, business units, and other teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
Identify and recommend best practices for government relations and regulatory compliance.
Lead functional projects and programs related to government relations.
Conduct analysis to understand business trends and their implications for government relations.
Participate in advocacy efforts to influence public policies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with government relations strategies.
Provide guidance on regulatory compliance and public policy issues.
Expected Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities and Preferred Qualifications:
Develop PayPal’s public policy positions on consumer financial and small business legislation and regulations at federal and state levels.
Lead development of briefing documents, talking points, and background materials for advocacy engagements.
Collaborate closely with senior management and business units to assess policy impacts and opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with key U.S. federal and state government officials and their staff.
Possess extensive policy experience and strong understanding of consumer financial services and small business issues, including CFPB and Treasury processes.
Quickly analyze information and succinctly communicate complex policy issues to internal and external audiences.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Represent the organization before trade associations, coalitions, and other stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
