Title:
Busy Season Tax Contractor (Senior & Manager Level)
Duration:
January 1 – April 15 (many engagements extend into May)
Pay Range
Tax Senior: $55–$70 per hour (W2)
Tax Manager: $80–$100 per hour (W2)
Overview PeopleCaddie is supporting multiple national and regional public accounting firms with experienced
Busy Season Tax Contractors
to assist with peak-volume compliance and review work. Contractors will support a variety of engagements across
corporate, partnership, flow-through, SALT, high-net-worth, and multi-state
tax filings. These roles are fully remote with flexible scheduling, although weekly minimum hours may be required depending on the engagement.
This is ideal for public accounting professionals seeking seasonal contract work across a wide mix of industries including
manufacturing, financial services, real estate, technology, healthcare, CPG, and private equity/portfolio companies .
Key Responsibilities Compliance Preparation & Review
Prepare and/or review 1120, 1120‑S, 1065, K‑1s, multistate corporate & partnership returns, and SALT returns.
Assist with year‑end tax adjustments, book‑to‑tax reconciliations, fixed asset schedules, and depreciation calculations.
Support quarterly estimates, extensions, and annual filings across multiple jurisdictions.
Technical Tax Work
Perform research on federal and state tax issues, nexus, apportionment, and flow‑through considerations.
Analyze partnership agreements, ownership structures, and complex allocations.
Ensure compliance with current tax regulations and firm‑specific methodologies.
Qualifications Tax Senior Level
3–6+ years of public accounting tax experience.
Strong preparation experience with 1120/1065 and exposure to multi‑state filings.
Proficient in a major tax software (GoSystem, ProSystem fx, OneSource, Ultratax, or similar).
Tax Manager Level
6–10+ years of public accounting experience, including review responsibilities.
Ability to lead engagements, mentor staff, and ensure technical accuracy.
Skilled in managing client communication and complex issues independently.
