Senior Tax Associate
Position Summary: Ready to Lead and Grow?
We are an established, rapidly growing CPA firm in Coral Gables, FL, looking for an experienced Senior Tax Associate who is ready to step outside the normal accounting firm box. Our diverse client base includes construction, real estate, aviation, international investors, and high-net-worth individuals, providing a stimulating and varied workload.
This is a critical role focused on tax preparation, review, and client management. Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation & Review:
Prepare individual income tax returns (1040) and business income tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041).
Quality Assurance:
Review both individual and business income tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
Client Communication:
Effectively communicate with clients to gather tax organizers, follow up on missing information, and assist clients in cleaning up bookkeeping records necessary for business tax returns.
Team Support:
Mentor and support team members to enhance their performance and growth within the firm.
Tax Season Commitment:
Must be willing to work extra hours during tax seasons as needed to meet filing deadlines.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Public Accounting Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in the public accounting and tax industry.
Individual Tax Prep:
Minimum 3 years of experience preparing individual (1040) federal and state tax returns.
Business Tax Prep:
Minimum 3 years of experience preparing business (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041) tax returns.
Skills:
Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills, including Strong Excel skills.
Professional Goal:
EA or CPA preferred; must be willing to work towards obtaining EA or CPA status.
Project Management:
Must be able to effectively organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly to clients.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional certifications or coursework related to advanced tax strategies or financial management.
Experience with Practice CS and/or UltraTax is a plus.
