What you will be doing

Lead and mentor a team of embedded software engineers while remaining hands-on with code development.

Plan and execute embedded software projects using Jira (backlog, milestones, risks, release readiness).

Define and drive platform strategy including architecture, scalability, and model-based development.

Conduct technical design reviews and serve as SME for embedded software, firmware, controls, and communications.

Manage daily development activities, unblock teams, and coordinate cross-functionally.

Enforce engineering standards (coding, version control, CI, test automation, defect tracking).

Oversee supplier interface documentation and manage supplier engagement projects.

Promote innovation and continuous learning while balancing production-ready solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Systems, Validation, Hardware, and Product.

Drive New Product Development, Continuous Improvement, and Issue projects with urgency and accountability.

What you'll need to be successful Essential

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

7+ years of automotive embedded software experience, including 1-3 years in technical/people leadership.

Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems and experience with MATLAB/Simulink.

Strong understanding of embedded software, controls, firmware, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, UDS, etc.).

Proven experience with Jira for project planning and defect tracking.

Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Experience managing internal and supplier interfacing projects.

Preferred

Master’s degree in engineering or related field.

Passion for automotive and powertrain systems.

Experience integrating software, validation, calibration, or diagnostic functions.

Knowledge of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) fundamentals and Engine Management Systems.
