HSE Manager

to support our data center projects.

Location: Baton Rouge, LA.

You will provide HSE support and leadership to an EPCM project at a client facility. You’ll work as a business partner with the HSE Director, HSE Manager, Project Manager, and Construction Manager to lead HSE excellence and deliver a project that ensures no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client’s business continuity. You’ll support the BeyondZero performance vision and strategic plans and provide overall leadership, management, and direction to the team and client.

We’ll rely on you to take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and for driving strategies while supporting continuous improvement. You’ll maintain open communication with the HSE Director and team members to provide technical guidance and to ensure consistent implementation of HSE process tools that support project HSE strategic plans and objectives.

By establishing working relationships, you’ll provide visible support and leadership to all clients and stakeholders by providing interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance and governance oversight to ensure alignment with the Jacobs HSE program.

You will lead or support incident notification, investigation, and reporting, as well as facilitate injury management and return‑to‑work processes. You will review subcontractor hazard assessments and deliverables and participate in operational readiness reviews or other forums relevant to project success.

The only travel anticipated with this role is between the project site and your office. Future project assignments may require additional travel within the U.S. and potentially North America.

The HSE Manager must successfully manage multiple stakeholders, support HSE staff in the field, lead Project and Construction Managers, and create a culture of inclusion and care. Flexibility, excellent communication skills, empathy, commitment, and dedication to ensuring workers go home safely every day are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Lead HSE strategy and execution for data center construction projects.

Collaborate with project and construction teams to embed safety practices.

Provide training, technical review, and regulatory guidance to clients and subcontractors.

Manage incident notification, investigation, reporting, injury management, and return‑to‑work.

Conduct hazard assessments and reviews of subcontractor deliverables.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and meet BeyondZero performance goals.

Requirements

HSE certification and/or associate degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or related field.

Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role managing Construction Health and Safety.

Minimum 4 years with construction experience managing subcontractor H&S in the construction sector.

Experience conducting safety training sessions.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Strong interpersonal and personnel management skills.

Working knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance and federal, state, and local agency requirements.
