Role description

Arcadis is seeking a Principal for the Architecture and Urbanism (A&U) division of the Global Business Area Places. The role reports to the Business Unit Director, US West and Mexico, and focuses on growing the Healthcare business in line with GAU Division strategy, meeting financial targets, and driving operational efficiency and workforce optimization.

Role Accountabilities

Lead ultimate accountability for team performance—including utilization, billability, contribution, and debtor management—while ensuring service quality, excellence, and profitable growth.

Recruit, set objectives, and review performance to motivate and develop a diverse team of senior specialists, ensuring skill development and drive to deliver program objectives.

Develop and implement a clear business plan, communicating its importance to the team and fostering the appropriate culture.

Identify and target clients through service excellence to grow organic revenue.

Build strong relationships and create successful teams.

Develop enduring client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and driving retention and organic revenue growth.

Coach and mentor studio and service managers to guarantee projects are set up for success and governance is adhered to, improving client satisfaction.

Identify talent within the team across technical and sales capabilities and promote career development through appropriate programs.

Make decisions on resource utilization, maintaining unit composition integrity and supporting resource optimization.

Identify and manage risks in service delivery, ensuring compliance with governance processes to achieve service excellence and client satisfaction.

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of the practice group’s clients and market, spotting key trends and emerging opportunities.

Foster cooperation within Arcadis to maximize cross‑sell opportunities.

Implement the GAU Division strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or post‑graduate qualification and/or fellowship in an appropriate professional institution.

Registered Architect or equivalent preferred.

18+ years of experience, including 10+ years in an Architecture consultancy.

Experience leading and implementing complex business change solutions.

Experience managing executive‑level business relationships.

Experience managing teams across geographies.

Significant experience on large‑scale or highly complex projects.

The salary range for this position is $94,000 – $190,000.
