Sustainability and Green Building Specialist
Location: Oakland, CA. Hiring Base Salary Range: $101,500 - $135,800 annual (time and half‑overtime eligible).

What You'll Do
Work with engineering and architectural teams to identify sustainability goals, compile design options, test effectiveness, and recommend solutions as part of an integrated design process.
Conduct façade optimization studies including daylighting, shading effectiveness, glare, peak solar load, and natural ventilation effectiveness.
Conduct Life‑Cycle Assessment studies and advise on methods to reduce embodied carbon.
Carry out studies on other sustainable design topics (e.g., water conservation, sustainable materials, energy).
Generate project deliverables such as reports, memos, and presentations.
Collaborate with PAE’s MEP design teams and other Regenerative Design team members.
Lead and manage the design and documentation process for green building rating systems (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, ILFI, etc.), acting as the primary liaison with project teams, clients, consultants, and certifying bodies.
Review and track project performance against rating requirements.
Develop and manage certification documentation, including narratives, calculators, and supporting documents.
Stay updated on changes to rating systems and share knowledge with teams.
Support internal education and training on sustainability certifications.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Sustainability, Building Science, or a related field.
2–5 years of professional experience in sustainable design consulting or within an architecture or engineering team.
LEED Accredited Professional (AP) with a specialty; BD+C preferred.
Experience managing at least three projects through LEED certification.
