The Center for Children and Families at FIU is hiring Lead Counselors for the 2026 summer program. The position is Monday, June 1 2026 through Friday, July 31 2026, with a workday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Counselors will supervise a small group of counselors, implement a behavior‑modification treatment program in classroom and recreational settings, and provide daily communication with parents. The role includes leadership training, preparation of treatment summaries, and staff evaluations. Responsibilities

Lead academic and sport centers (e.g., English/Language Arts, Math, Science, Writing, soccer, kickball, tee ball). Deliver evidence‑based reading intervention and large group instruction components. Supervise and train group counselors in the daily activities and treatment components. Review program plans, activity logs, and daily tracking forms for accuracy and fidelity. Monitor individual behavior progress, create target behavior plans, and adjust programming as needed. Maintain daily communication with parents and work under the supervision of Ph.D. clinicians. Qualifications

Minimum

– Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or a related field and experience working with children and teenagers. Desired

– Graduate‑level study or extensive experience in clinical psychology, school psychology, mental health counseling, social work, education/special education, or related fields. Research, clinical, leadership, or field experience working or volunteering with children or adolescents. Experience in summer camps, after‑school programs, sports programs, daycare programs, or educational settings. Preferred experience with organized sports, art, music, dance, theater, journalism, photography, and videography. Work Schedule

Monday‑Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Salary

The salary for this temporary position is $10,152 for the summer. Pre‑Employment Requirements
