Job Description The role of the Senior BD is to drive and support sales efforts in a given territory by implementing ProBio’s world‑class discovery services. It requires applying knowledge of science and business, including corporate contacts, to develop profitable initiatives and build sales.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct and coordinate opportunity assessment, financial justification, due diligence, transaction design, contract negotiation, and completion of discovery deals covering both antibodies and cell & gene therapies.
Create and execute programs for prospective clients to increase awareness of ProBio’s service offerings and highlight key differentiators.
Serve clients with a consultative mindset, leveraging scientific knowledge to earn and maintain trust.
Provide insights into scientific requirements for transactions and collaborate with internal GenScript stakeholders to prepare project designs and proposals.
Understand customers’ research applications and match GenScript services and products to align with their project requirements.
Remain current on customers’ news, pipeline development, funding status, industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and key technologies to serve as a consultant.
Stay current on all ProBio internal trainings on discovery services and technologies, and provide mentorship to new team members as needed.
Work with the Head of Discovery Sales (HDS) to develop and implement territory sales strategies and tactics for products/services, new markets, and new applications.
Collaborate with the HDS and technical account managers (TAM) to ensure all possible actions secure business in a competitive environment.
Share market knowledge with HDS, Sales, TAM, and Marketing teams, driving business expansion.
Build and expand a business reference network to grow new business opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in a scientific discipline, preferably life science or experience at a pre‑clinical or discovery CDMO.
Relevant sales experience of at least 2 years with high technical and professional expertise.
Good knowledge of biopharmaceutical discovery and CDMO markets and the biotech industry.
Ability to work in international and multicultural environments.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, challenging environment.
Proven track record of meeting and surpassing goals.
Ability to accurately forecast sales within territory on a weekly basis.
Team player with strong analytical and time‑management skills.
