Neurona Therapeutics is a clinical‑stage biotechnology company based in South San Francisco focused on the development of allogeneic cell‑based therapies for neurological diseases. Our lead product candidate, NRTX‑1001, comprising GABAergic interneurons, offers a novel approach that is not tissue‑destructive for the potential treatment of drug‑resistant focal epilepsy. NRTX‑1001 is currently being studied for safety and efficacy in two ongoing open‑label multicenter, Phase 1/2 trials (NCT05135091 and NCT06422923). Neurona plans to initiate the Phase 3 EPIC (EPIlepsy Cell Therapy) trial in 2H 2025.
We are seeking a Vice President of Commercial Strategy to lead the planning and execution of commercial readiness activities for our lead asset as it advances toward potential market approval. This high‑impact role focuses on ensuring the successful launch of a novel cell therapy in a complex therapeutic space.
Base pay range $285,000.00/yr - $330,000.00/yr

Position Summary Neurona Therapeutics is seeking a Vice President of Commercial Strategy to lead the planning and execution of commercial readiness activities for our lead asset as it advances toward potential market approval. The VP will be responsible for defining and driving early commercial strategies, customer engagement planning, market development, and cross‑functional alignment across development, medical affairs, regulatory, and executive teams.
Responsibilities
Lead and own the commercial strategy and launch planning for Neurona’s lead clinical‑stage program, ensuring a fully integrated cross‑functional launch plan.
Develop early brand strategy including positioning, segmentation, patient journey mapping, KOL engagement, and messaging in coordination with key stakeholders.
Establish and lead the commercial launch team in collaboration with other functions (e.g., medical affairs, market access, CMC, regulatory, clinical).
Work closely with the executive team to define go‑to‑market models and long‑term commercial infrastructure planning.
Build early customer insights capabilities, including market research, advisory boards, and engagement strategy.
Identify and prioritize key market development activities to shape the external environment for launch readiness.
Drive strategic pricing & access strategy and commercialization scenarios.
Engage with potential partners or collaborators on commercial‑related matters when needed.
Lead commercial input into lifecycle management and pipeline development strategies.
Provide commercial leadership in partnerships, fundraising, and strategic collaborations.
Represent the commercial voice in executive meetings, board updates, and external presentations.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
15+ years of progressive experience in biotech/pharma with a strong background in product launch strategy, particularly in neurology, cell therapy, rare disease, or adjacent therapeutic areas.
Experience leading commercial planning prior to product approval, especially in emerging or first‑in‑class technologies.
Proven track record of launching innovative therapeutics, ideally in neurology, rare diseases, or cell/gene therapy.
Strong strategic thinker who can operate effectively in an early‑stage, fast‑paced environment and is comfortable with ambiguity.
Experience working cross‑functionally with R&D, medical, market access, regulatory, and CMC teams.
Demonstrated ability to build commercial capabilities from the ground up.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Education Requirements
Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or equivalent) preferred.
