Job Description Summary We are looking for an experienced and visionary

Associate Director of Software Engineering

to lead the development and ongoing support of our next-generation Recruiting Portal.

This role will be responsible for building a high-performing engineering team from the ground up, advancing the technical strategy, and delivering a scalable, user-friendly platform that optimizes the recruiting process.

Workstyle Hybrid. Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10‑12 days a month.

Work Visa sponsorship is not available currently or in the future.

Key Responsibilities

Build and lead a software engineering team focused on designing, developing, and maintaining a modern recruiting portal.

Contribute to, and advance, the architecture and technology stack in alignment with business goals and scalability needs.

Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.

Establish engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, and agile methodologies.

Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the recruiting platform.

Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Manage project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships as needed.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role.

Proven experience building and scaling web applications or platforms.

Strong understanding of modern front-end and back-end technologies (e.g., Angular/React, Java, Oracle, cloud platforms).

Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in the Financial Services industry.

Previous experience in solution architecture.

Familiarity with data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG).

Background in building user‑centric platforms with strong UX/UI principles.

Education Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Information Technology. High School required.

Work Experience General Experience: 6‑10 years; Manager Experience: 3‑6 years.

Travel Less than 25%.
