About The Position The Security Operations Center Specialist monitors and operates all security and safety systems, specified building management systems of the facilities and outdoor venues, and acts as the main communications link between Campus Security staff and outside emergency response operators. The Security Operations Center Specialist maintains an active and real-time awareness of the status of multiple facilities. This position monitors and assists with activities and events taking place in the buildings and on the grounds and is responsible for logging and reporting incidents so the appropriate personnel can respond. This position requires a team-oriented focus and the ability to work in an environment which may quickly move from relaxed to tense.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Continually and effectively monitor CCTV system to assist Campus Security staff patrolling the campus, immediately notifying Security Patrol of observed suspicious or inappropriate behavior or facility related emergencies, in accordance with campus policies.

Initiate incident reports based on reported or observed events, completing preliminary investigative steps and dispatching Campus Patrol when appropriate.

Effectively monitor security and building management systems, reporting all alarm conditions to Campus Security Manager and other departments, in accordance with campus policies.

Continually monitor all incoming radio and intercom communications and respond as necessary.

Monitor weather radar and other environmental notifiers, alerting Security and Operations personnel of incoming and active hazardous outdoor conditions.

Immediately log and report all suspicious conditions or persons; report accidents, injuries and/or hazardous conditions to a Campus Security Manager and other campus departments, in accordance with campus policies
