Responsibilities Under general supervision, performs general maintenance work with moderate latitude for exercising individual knowledge and technical skill.
Performs facility maintenance (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, landscaping, etc.) as directed by the Facility Director to ensure the facility operation is not adversely affected.
Maintain security and control of all tools so safety and security of the staff and facility are maintained.
Follow all maintenance safety procedures and ensure compliance to prevent resident and staff accidents.
Respond to facility maintenance requests in a timely manner, keeping the facility in a safe condition.
Maintain maintenance logs, tool inventories, Material Safety Data Sheets, chemical inventories, and other records in accordance with applicable requirements.
Communicate resident concerns to appropriate supervisors to enforce preventive measures for health, safety, and security.
Run errands to pick up necessary supplies to keep the facility running smoothly.
Communicate with residents and staff professionally to affirm dignity and maintain positive relations.
Participate in staff meetings to share observations and recommendations for facility, resident, and staff improvement.
Maintain confidentiality of information obtained through job duties, sharing only on a "need to know" basis.
Comply with work rules and policies and respond positively to directives from managers and supervisors.
Adhere to attendance policy and work overtime as required to ensure adequate coverage and safety.
Follow facility safety rules and take corrective action to ensure work is performed safely.
Communicate effectively at all staff levels, promoting team spirit and cooperation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Two (2) years of general maintenance and/or related construction trade experience.
Knowledge of equipment necessary for making proper repairs.
Ability to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, and electrical repairs.
Effective communication with residents and staff; react quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Valid, active driver's license.
