COMPENSATION : $21.50 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications
Training in a skilled trade such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing sufficient to perform assigned duties and troubleshoot/diagnose system malfunctions.
Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and operations of school district facilities.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Ability to perform assigned duties in challenging conditions that may require exposure to the elements, climbing a ladder, or crawling in confined spaces.
Valid Illinois Driver's License.
Alternatives to the above requirements as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Previous maintenance experience preferred.
General Description To provide for a safe and functional environment that is conducive to learning by performing various skilled and semi‑skilled duties related to the operation and maintenance of school buildings and grounds as directed by the Director and Assistant Director of Operations.
Specific Responsibilities
Performs general repair and maintenance tasks pertaining to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire, burglar, and other building systems as assigned.
Conducts periodic maintenance inspections according to assigned schedule.
Monitors all work orders and responds to them in a timely manner, per District procedure.
Assists with the assembly and maintenance of fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
Ensures that equipment, work areas, and vehicles are neat, clean, and orderly; and promptly reports damage and/or hazards to the Director of Operations or designee.
Performs emergency repairs and cleaning as assigned.
Participates in snow removal efforts as assigned.
Utilizes safe work practices and properly utilizes personal protective equipment when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
