Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Maintenance Mechanic at HIGHLAND CUSD 5 SCHOOL DISTRICT, located in Highland, IL. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues, and ensuring the functionality of school equipment and facilities. Key tasks include conducting repair work, troubleshooting equipment failures, and maintaining industrial machinery to ensure operational efficiency and safety within the district's facilities.
Job Summary Full-time Skilled Maintenance at Highland School District which includes working in professional office areas and student areas as well as outside in extreme weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on school equipment and facilities.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, troubleshooting equipment failures.
Maintain industrial machinery to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Operate normal maintenance equipment.
Qualifications
Experience in all aspects of Facilities Maintenance including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Computer skills and previous use of a CMMS with parts inventory is a plus.
Ability to repetitively lift 75 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods of time, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
Ability to work in confined spaces and heights including ladders and lifts.
Physical and background check required, with a driver's license and clean driving record.
HVAC certification preferred, but not required.
Employment Details Job Title: Maintenance Position (40 hours per week; 8 hours per day (7:00 - 3:30); starting hourly rate of $20.95 and up based on knowledge/experience and Board discretion)
