Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and the month-end close process.
- Ensure financial statements are prepared accurately, consistently, and on time, providing reliable reports to leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive month-end close framework, identifying opportunities for improvement and addressing potential risks.
- Drive process enhancements in accounting operations to improve efficiency and support organizational goals.
- Establish and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial resources and ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards.
- Leverage technology to optimize accounting processes and enable the team to focus on strategic insights and analysis.
- Collaborate with program managers and departmental leaders to provide financial advice, analysis, and recommendations for decision-making.
- Oversee fund and grant accounting, ensuring strict compliance with donor requirements and accurate grant reporting.
- Assist in preparing the annual budget and long-term forecasts, tracking financial performance, and analyzing variances.
- Lead collaborative budget discussions with managers to align financial and operational objectives.
- Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance.
- Strong expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements and conducting audits.
- Proficiency in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting standards and fund accounting principles.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements in financial operations.
- Demonstrated skill in leveraging technology to enhance accounting functions and streamline workflows.
