Robert Half is hiring: Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Severna Park

Description We are looking for an Accounting Manager in Anne Arundel County to oversee key financial functions and ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records. This role involves managing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, and conducting detailed analyses to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in budgeting, reconciliation, and reporting, along with strong proficiency in accounting systems. Responsibilities:

• Manage general ledger activities for multiple funds, ensuring accurate and detailed account analysis.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules and departmental reviews.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules for annual audits, answering inquiries from auditors.
• Develop and monitor the annual budget by collaborating with department heads, analyzing financial data, and preparing projections.
• Implement and maintain point-of-sale systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and support inventory management for retail and dining operations.
• Reconcile monthly data for student and employee prepayments, retail and dining sales, and general ledger accounts.
• Track and allocate equipment leases and maintenance contracts, ensuring accurate records.
• Manage fixed asset schedules, including acquisition and disposal tracking, depreciation recording, and data maintenance.
• Prepare and file required reports and registrations, ensuring compliance with deadlines and regulations.
• Conduct financial analysis for special events and programs, compiling detailed reports and statements.

Requirements

• Experience in the education space
• Proficiency in preparing financial statements and conducting audits.
• Strong skills in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
• Advanced knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge and other accounting systems.
