Legal Administrative Assistant

Shulman Rogers is seeking a highly organized and professional Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Baltimore office. This multifaceted role combines administrative support for attorneys, front desk responsibilities, and office management duties.

Primary Duties

  • Draft and proofread legal documents, including all types of pleadings and correspondence.
  • Manage the engagement letter and conflicts process.
  • Handle electronic filing (e‑filing) and service of court documents in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients, guests, and vendors.
  • Manage general office operations, including office events and mail delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years of assistant/secretarial or administrative support experience in a commercial litigation department/practice.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of legal procedures, terminology, and court rules related to litigation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort and skill in speaking with clients.
  • E‑filing of pleadings in both state and federal courts in Maryland, DC and Virginia.
  • Proficient in technology, Microsoft Office (and in particular expertise in Microsoft Word) and document management software (experience with iManage a plus), and able to effectively use other litigation software.

Salary: $60,000 - $90,000 per year
