The Role

You will lead an 8-room, purpose-driven boutique wellness retreat in Stowe, Vermont, running it like a well-oiled machine. The goal: turn guests into lifetime brand advocates and drive positive transformation through exceptional hospitality. You thrive in small-team environments, love streamlining operations, and are passionate about building a culture focused on delivering unforgettable guest experiences-all while optimizing revenue and controlling costs through innovative tech and thoughtful leadership.

About The Retreat

Our client operates an intimate wellness retreat nestled in the mountains above Stowe, Vermont. This mission-driven center focuses on creating exceptional guest experiences through heartfelt hospitality and impactful programming. Its tranquil forest setting offers the perfect space for guests to find rest, rejuvenation, and connection. Success here is measured in heartfelt smiles and transformative moments as much as in financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership: Be the hands-on leader of the retreat, growing a newer business into a thriving, sustainable, and mission-aligned organization. Strategic Oversight: Manage long-term planning across all core areas-operations, finance, guest services, and facilities. Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations across all departments. Coordinate with ownership to support seamless program delivery. Financial Performance: Set and achieve financial targets, monitor expenses, lead budgeting, and ensure financial accountability. Business Development: Develop partnerships, experiences, and products to boost revenue and community impact. Team Building: Recruit, nurture, and lead a high-performing, values-driven team culture. Guest Experience: Elevate every touchpoint of the guest journey, from accommodations to dining and event support. Facilities Management: Maintain impeccable standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality across all grounds and buildings. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all legal, health, and permitting requirements.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience managing boutique hotels, retreat centers, or similar operations (including guest services, housekeeping, facilities, dining, and finances) Deep personal alignment with the mission of wellness, mindfulness, and conscious living Strategic thinker with strong initiative and a focus on long-term goals Inspirational leadership skills with a talent for building cohesive, empowered teams Operational foresight to manage facility and staffing needs effectively Strong communication and stakeholder relationship-building skills Tech-savvy-comfortable with tools like Google Suite, QuickBooks, Slack, and CRM platforms (preferably Honeybook), with a quick learning curve for new technologies (especially AI) Committed to fostering a healthy work/life balance for the team

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of senior leadership in hospitality, wellness, or nonprofit sectors Expertise in strategic planning, operations, and business development Strong grasp of financial planning, budgeting, and cost control Experience growing organizations through smart use of technology Ability to lead through change while balancing immediate needs and long-term vision

Work Environment

Onsite role in Stowe, Vermont, with occasional remote flexibility Requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays Collaborative and close-knit team with a strong emphasis on well-being and joy in the workplace
