As a Principal Engineer Firmware Development, you will develop new and existing technical systems (whole systems, parts, components) and enhancements. These can be software, hardware, or various products. You will be responsible for development planning and strategy in close collaboration with other functions (e.g., marketing, operations) to develop generic and market-oriented products.
Job Description
In your role, you will:
Develop embedded software and firmware running on an Infineon chip.
Observe and proactively act on trends.
Create a sense of urgency for upcoming innovation and initiate feasibility studies.
Encourage innovation within your field.
Coach and challenge new ideas, balance risks and opportunities, drive decisions, share knowledge, and foster talent.
Represent technical competence within several BLs/Functional Areas.
Contribute significantly to business value within BL/Functional Areas.
Contribute to roadmap and standards definition with industry partners.
Develop and implement strategies.
Proactively develop and strengthen relations with top management at Infineon.
Contribute to the IP strategy.
Make technical decisions for BL/Functional Areas and implementations.
Network within Infineon and relevant communities (e.g., partners, universities, institutes).
Foster patent creation and enhance Infineons reputation through publications and speeches.
Support continuous improvement to ensure Infineon remains a quality leader (zero defects).
Drive problem solving, hypothesis prioritization, analyze conclusions, and derive lessons learned.
Engage expert networks for complex technical knowledge and problem solving.
Your Profile
You are best equipped if you have:
8+ years of relevant experience,
including 3+ years in firmware development. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
