Infineon's Power System IC (PSI) Software Development team in Andover, MA is seeking a Principal Firmware Engineer / Architect to drive the design and development of embedded firmware for advanced DC/DC power conversion ICs. In this role, you will develop control firmware for a family of MCU-based digital power controllers for various DC/DC power supply topologies. That controls and configures ICs, regulates power, enabling seamless communication through serial interfaces such as PMBus, I2C, and UART. You'll play a critical role in architecting embedded solutions that elevate our industry-leading products in the Power and Sensor Systems (PSS) division. Job Description In your new role you will: Architect and design embedded firmware applications for

Infineon's DC/DC power conversion products Architect, design, implement, and verify embedded firmware using

C, C++, and assembly for microcontroller-based ICs Develop real-time control and configuration firmware

for applications such as multiphase voltage regulator systems Propose innovative ideas for firmware development and create feature proposals for new product releases Development of simulation test environment for unit test. Contributing to design and development of pre-silicon environment like FPGA. Technical guidance to the team for development & verification activities, including code and test spec reviews. Document embedded firmware designs

through feature definitions, user guides, and white papers Ensure high-quality firmware through robust development and validation processes Lead design and code reviews to identify potential issues early in the development lifecycle

Your Profile You are best equiped for this task if you have:

MS or PhD in

Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

(or equivalent experience) 10-15 years of experience in

leading firmware design and development Deep knowledge of

DC/DC power conversion systems Proficiency in

C, C++, and assembly code in real-time systems Strong lab skills for debugging firmware communication with hardware circuits Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external engineering teams Proficiency in the development of embedded software / firmware for Power conversion Knowhow and good understanding of Microcontroller architecture. Strong problem-solving skills, multitasking ability, and a self-driven, team-oriented mindset Fluent in written and verbal English

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

Experience with version control systems like

GIT Proficiency with

JTAG debuggers and debugging firmware systems Proficiency in microcontroller driver development for components like

ADC , DAC, PWM

etc. Expertise in serial communication protocols such as

I2C ,

PMBus , and

UART

. Familiarity with

bare-metal ,

RTOS environments . Programming experience with

Python . Experience with bug tracking systems like

JIRA .
