Senior Director of Product Development.
Overview Schwan’s Shared Services, LLC (a subsidiary of Schwan’s Company) seeks a Senior Director of Product Development at our facility in Bloomington, Minnesota. The role focuses on development of frozen foods such as Asian dumplings and snacks, processed meat products, and innovation in product categories. The Senior Director will manage R&D teams, coordinate synergy projects with global R&D, and lead technology exchange to drive growth.
Responsibilities
Lead product development for food service and retail, planning short- and long-term projects.
Hire and supervise R&D professionals, directing market and competitor research.
Develop commercialization plans and research new food categories and innovative products.
Manage synergy projects with U.S. and foreign headquarters, coordinating Stage Gate Process improvement.
Ensure team conduct consistent with company mission, values, ethics, and policies.
Execute and achieve project goals within recorded time, supporting continuous collaboration and communication.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering or a closely related field.
At least seven years of experience in roles such as Food Scientist, Researcher, R&D Manager, Senior R&D Manager, Director of Product Development, or Senior Director of Product Development.
Experience managing food scientists and technologists in developing new frozen food products.
Strong knowledge of food processing, packaging, preservation, and distribution.
Proven ability to drive technology exchange and process improvement in a large food manufacturing organization.
Legal authority to work in the U.S.
Location: Bloomington, Minnesota. Salary range: $154,856 to $180,000. EOE.
