Overview/Impact Are you a compassionate and skilled Speech‑Language Pathologist prepared to help students in Brooklyn unlock their communication potential? Knowledge Road is looking for a part‑time Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) to become part of our team and deliver essential support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. With a severe city‑wide shortage of related service providers, your expertise is urgently required to assist students overcome communication barriers and reach academic success. This is a chance to make a lasting impact, working with students with varied communication needs in school‑based settings.
As an SLP with Knowledge Road, you will enjoy the autonomy to provide individualized therapy using evidence‑based practices, partnering collaboratively with school teams and families to advance student communication development.
Responsibilities
Deliver direct, high‑quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, as required by their IESP/IEP.
Perform comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
Design and implement innovative and effective treatment plans customized to the unique needs of each student.
Work closely with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to build a holistic and supportive learning environment.
Keep meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in alignment with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.
Take an active role in IESP/IEP meetings, contributing expert insights and recommendations to support student progress.
Qualifications
Valid NYS license in Speech‑Language Pathology.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA).
1–2 years of experience in a school‑based setting.
Competence with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.
NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required, or willingness to complete them before starting.
Schedule & Location This is a part‑time, school‑day or after‑school position in Brooklyn with a schedule that aligns with the NYC DOE calendar. You will provide services on‑site at one or more schools in Queens, with assignments determined by student needs. Hours per week are based on IESP/IEP mandates; caseload may fluctuate by assignment. Typically ~5‑15 hours per week depending on placements.
