Position Summary Responsible for performing professional primary care physician services. Establishes and maintains relationships with patients; participates in a call schedule; provides outstanding customer service.

Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited school of medicine in the area of family medicine/primary care, pediatrics or internal medicine.

Licensing and Certification Requirements

Valid License by State of Nevada to practice medicine.

State of Nevada Pharmacy Board License to Prescribe Medications and DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.

Some positions may require one or more of the following certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Additional Position Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible as an American Board of Family Medicine Physician.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Principles and practices of medical care; adult and pediatric care; equipment and supplies; infectious disease and infection control; federal, state, local, and accreditation laws; quality assurance and performance improvement; peer review; safety and emergency response; patient rights; hazard handling; age‑specific patient care practices.

Skills Effective provision of medical care; assessing and improving effectiveness and efficiency through QI programs; ensuring services meet patients' medical, social, and emotional needs; developing goals, policies, and procedures; applying leadership techniques; multitasking; effective decision‑making under stress; developing care plans; verbal and written communication; problem solving; computer use; interacting with diverse patients; maintaining professional relationships; equipment safety.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Mobility to work in a typical office setting; stamina to remain seated and concentrate for extended periods; vision to read printed materials and VDT screens; hearing and speech for effective communication; ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
