Position Summary
Responsible for performing professional primary care physician services.
Establishes and maintains relationships with patients.
Participates in a call schedule.
Provides outstanding customer service.
Education & Experience Graduation from an accredited school of medicine in the area of family medicine, primary care, pediatrics, or internal medicine.
Licensing & Certification Requirements Valid medical license in the State of Nevada to practice medicine. Nevada Pharmacy Board license to prescribe medications and DEA controlled substance registration certificate. Certification may include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Additional Position Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible as an American Board of Family Medicine Physician.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Principles and practices of medical care; adult and pediatric care, equipment, supplies and practices; infection control practices; federal, state, local and accreditation laws, regulations, standards and trends; contact external agencies for referrals; quality assurance and performance improvement; peer review processes; department and hospital safety practices; patient rights; handling hazardous materials; emergency response policies; age-specific patient care practices. Effective provision of medical care; assessment and improvement of care quality; appropriate service allocation; goal and policy development; leadership techniques; multitasking; decision making under stress; care planning; effective verbal and written communication; problem solving; computer and software usage; communication with diverse populations; collaboration with all personnel; safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard equipment; stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for extended periods; vision to read printed materials and on a VDT screen; hearing and speech for effective communication; strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
